Megale for the attempted extortion of Harry "Oil Can" Farrington, a Stamford strip bar owner and Megale's friend. ? Joseph "Joey Mash" Mascia, 47, of Hawthorne, N.Y. a reputed Gambino associate, pleaded guilty to attempted extortion of Farrington; sentencing on Dec. 23.
? Alfred Scivola Jr., 63, of Providence, R.I., a reputed Patriarca associate, pleaded guilty to the attempted extortion of Farrington and was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of supervised release and a $4,000 fine.
? Anthony Ascenzia, Jr., 45, of New Haven, a reputed Patriarca member, pleaded guilty to violating federal racketeering laws and filing a false income tax return. He was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison. ? Anthony Fry, 37, of Monroe, described as Ascenzia's right hand man, pleaded guilty to conspiring to conduct an illegal gambling operation and was sentenced to six months in prison followed by three years supervised release during which he must pay a $7,500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service. ? Mariano "Cub" Grasso, 55, of New Haven, was sentenced to a year and a day in prison and fined $20,000 for conspiring to conduct an illegal gambling business. He is the son of William P. Grasso, the one-time underboss of the Patriarca family murdered during a 1989 power struggle.
