However, Sidney Kunene from the agricultural division stated that they wanted up coming entrepreneurs to clearly assess the viability of their projects before seeking finances.

“We want to see small farmers develop and emphasise that they should expand on their business ventures. However, we do not consider projects that are not properly assessed as such would lead to farmers not being able to service their loans and further have nothing left to survive on. We do not finance non-viable projects,” said Kunene.

Kunene was speaking on behalf of the sponsors during the National Maize Competition prize presentation held at Mphophoma Conference and Training Centre on Wednesday.
