Festivities include live music, guest speakers and a birthday cake cutting ceremony. Featured speakers for the event will be Mt. SAC President Christopher O'Hearn and Walnut Councilwoman Mary Su.

Mt. SAC opened its doors on Sept. 16, 1946 with 635 students in a building that was originally designed as an Army and Navy hospital. Currently, Mt. SAC is home to more than 40,000 students and 200 degree, certificate and community education programs.

Firefighters responded at 10:10 a.m. to the store, which was flooded with about two inches of water, said Pasadena fire spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.
