Like much of the population, many have a mysterious concept of any economy, but “they" clearly understand how to exaggerate stuff about it to alarm the public and chicken-peck at the prosperity and opportunity our economy creates. Probably “jobs" and “profits" are most sneakily exploited by politicos in their continuous whinny “blame others" campaign.

Some renown senators who subsist on huge tax-free trusts (windfalls of comfort and pleasure) want to more heavily tax successful employers and investors “obscene" (as in stolen from underpaid and jobless people) profits. Then they want to raise wages by ordering all be paid over $10 per hour. On top of that “they" also legislate big books of benefits, assorted insurance, regulations and taxes on pay to the point a minimum wage job could cost $20 per hour for workers who are likely inexperienced, unskilled, uneducated and irresponsible. Why risk a business, savings, huge bank loans and legal liabilities to “nurse" $20 an hour incompetence to battle for profits that are ridiculed in public media? Yet most all competent and incompetent workers are well employed. Nationally, about 95 percent (depending on local conditions from 88 to 98 percent) have jobs. As the world's best paid, they buy more houses, cars, TVs, CDs, event tickets, clothes, etc., taxes and fees than ever.

We can trust our capitalist economy to grow businesses/jobs and have all grow richer or get blowhard politicos involved with '70s policies that gave us rat-race tax and wage inflation, sky-high interest rates, out of gas lines, trade embargoes and recession. Problem is Mr. Big politicos want their gluttony, not 100 million individual achievers doing better to make our economy go.
